At our school, we are thrilled to introduce our vibrant House Team system, designed to foster community spirit and camaraderie among our pupils. Our four house teams—Chidley's, Trevone, Tregirls, and Prideux—are named after local landmarks, creating meaningful connections to our community. We're proud that every child will have the opportunity to visit these places by the time they reach Year 6!
Involving our entire community in the naming process was essential to us; we sent out a voting form, and the popularity of these names speaks volumes about our collective identity. Our House Teams encourage children to embody our Padstow Expectations, for example by showcasing 'mighty manners', and earn house points in the process. When a class accumulates a certain number of points, they will enjoy a special class prize!
Competitively, the excitement escalates each half term as the winning team is rewarded with a fantastic team prize. Our House Teams play a significant role in various school events, from Children in Need Day to Sports Day, providing ample opportunities for our children to mix and form lasting friendships, spanning from Nursery to Year 6. Together, we cultivate a supportive and exhilarating environment where every child feels a sense of belonging!
